Manage supporters, donors, volunteers, memberships, fundraising events, forms, and wallet communications.
The case for change
For charities and non-profits, replacing a card or ticket is only useful when it improves the whole operating journey. The real test is whether people can join more easily, staff can recognise the right entitlement quickly, and the organisation can keep access current without maintaining several disconnected lists.
The recurring problems are specific:
- Supporters, donors, volunteers, and attendees needing different credentials
- Consent and application information separated from the person record
- Temporary event access being managed through paper lists and inboxes
What the new workflow needs to support
A useful setup for charities connects the sale or registration with the credential used at the point of entry. RemyPass is designed around three linked stages: the organisation creates the membership or ticket, the holder receives a branded Apple Wallet or Google Wallet pass, and staff scan that pass against the live record.
That approach can support:
- Supporter and donor memberships
- Volunteer credentials and event access
- Campaign and fundraising updates
Typical use cases for charities
- Donor memberships
- Volunteer credentials
- Fundraising event passes
How the journey works
1. Collect the required supporter, volunteer, or attendee information
The initial record should contain only the information required to administer the membership or ticket and decide who can use it.
2. Approve and issue the appropriate wallet credential or event ticket
Apple Wallet and Google Wallet provide a familiar place for the holder to keep the credential without installing a venue-specific app.
3. Scan at a venue and retain a clear attendance record for the team
The scan should answer the operational question immediately: is this the right person, with the right entitlement, at the right time?
What belongs on the pass
The pass should help the holder and the member of staff complete the next action. For most charities and non-profits, that means keeping it deliberately concise:
- A clear pass title
- The holder's name or membership reference
- Current status, dates, or access entitlement
- A scannable code when validation is required
- Recognisable organisation branding
- A support or renewal link where useful
A realistic rollout plan
Choose one programme with a well-defined audience—such as volunteers or regular donors—and document its approval and access rules before expanding to fundraising events.
Before launch, test the journey with the staff who will use it at the busiest point of the day. Confirm what they need to see after a scan, how exceptions will be handled, and who owns corrections to a member or ticket record. That operational rehearsal matters more than adding every possible field to the first pass.
